Recently, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province organized a meeting and presented the Prize of Typical Entrepreneurs and Enterprises on the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13th) to honor and recognize the contributions of business community and entrepreneurs in the province.
Attending the event, there were leaders of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, leaders of provincial departments, districts and cities and more than 400 entrepreneurs and enterprises representing more than 7,400 enterprises in the province.
At the ceremony, leaders of the province awarded certificates of merit to recognize achievements of outstanding entrepreneurs and enterprises in the socio-economic development of Quang Ngai province in particular and the Vietnam’s economy in general. Gemadept Dung Quat International Port was once again honored as a typical enterprise receiving the award.
Being one of the strategic chains in Gemadept’s port network from North to South, Gemadept Dung Quat International Port plays an important role as a major hub for cargo in Dung Quat Economic Zone and surrounding areas to be transported to and from all over the country and at the same time connected to the global transport network.
Taking the advantage of a seaport, which can accommodate vessels carrying wood chips up to 70,000 DWT and general cargo vessels up to 50,000 DWT, Gemadept Dung Quat has become a seaport capable of receiving generations of largest vessels in the Central region. In addition, the conveyor No. 3 has been completed and put into operation since October 2017, contributing to improve the handling capacity for wood chips with 20,000 tons/day. Gemadept Dung Quat is the leading port operator with highest handling capacity in the area.
Apart from wood chips, the port also receives vessels of equipment and other diversified types of goods serving large projects being invested in the area. Gemadept Dung Quat's logistics activities have also achieved positive results. In order to gain such performance, Gemadept Dung Quat not only improved its service quality but also provided new services, equipment transport for regional projects and customs services, etc.
Looking towards the future, Gemadept Dung Quat continues to invest in modern equipment, improve processes, technology, maximize operational efficiency in order to bring customers the best port services, promote the role of the gateway to Central Vietnam and one of the strategic chains in Gemadept's port network.
