On 9 June, 2017, at the biggest annual awarding event held by Nhip Cau Dau Tu magazine, Gemadept Corporation was honored among Vietnam’s 50 best-performing companies (TOP 50).
The event marked the 6th anniversary of TOP 50 program by Nhip Cau Dau Tu. In the ranking process, listed companies were surveyed and ranked using the international scientific measurement methodology along with the counsel from financial analysis experts of Thien Viet Securities (TVS), Vietnam Investments Group (VIG), Vietnam Capital Partners (VCP), some of whom were Harvard Business School graduates, as well as with reference to many prestigious rankings from renowned publications such as Bloomberg Businessweek, Fortune and Forbes.
The Council of Advisors of TOP 50 project maintained the following 3 conditions that companies must satisfy to be chosen: (1) Being listed on HOSE and HNX with market capitalization of VND 1,500 billion or more; (2) Revenue in the three years preceding the survey year is VND 250 billion or more; (3) Net profit in the three years preceding the survey year is VND 25 billion or more.
Other criteria being considered by the Council comprised: SR-CAGR, ROE, stock return in the past 3 years.
In the TOP 50, Gemadept was ranked among the 3 representative enterprises of Port operation and Logistics industries.
Last year, despite domestic market difficulty in the context of global economic and political changes, with its flexible management policies, active prevention of risks, efficiency improvement, proper capture of opportunities, and especially with valuable support from customers, partners and authorities, Gemadept successfully outperformed its business targets. Specifically, the Corporation’s revenue reached VND 3,744 billion and profit before tax reached VND 481 billion.
Towards mid-term development goals by 2020, the Corporation continues to develop key projects in its core businesses including Port Operation and Logistics in order to better meet the increasing demand of the market while Vietnam economy has shown prosperity signals.
