The year of 2018 marked Gemadept’s radical developments on its path of becoming a leading player in Port Operation and Logistics in both Vietnam and the Region. Following such developments, 2019 is, hence, a pivotal year for Gemadept to successfully accomplish its business plans and “Vision 2020.” Accordingly, the 2019 Business Conference with the topic of “Gemadept – For Sustainable Development – Change to be the Best” was held in Da Lat City in late March, 2019.
“Change to be the Best” is not only the slogan for this year’s Business Conference but also the lodestar for all of Gemadept’s business activities from now on.
Indeed, Gemadept has been using its best efforts to implement many projects to make comprehensive improvement in all aspects from organization structure, human resources to working environment. All of these projects, including centralized management, implementation of 5S Methodology, corporate assessment based on 7S framework, building targets based on Balance Scorecard (BSC) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Leader Mindset Training, etc., are conducted with the principal aim of making Gemadept a professional, active, effective and happy working environment for every employee.
During the Business Conference, nearly 200 key employees of Gemadept worked closely and actively to identify clear, consistent and challenging financial targets and management projects. Specifically, in this year’s Conference, we were proud to introduce the first edition of Gemadept’s Culture e-Handbook, which records the quintessence and achievement of every member in Gemadept family during nearly 30 years of establishment and development. This Culture Handbook also expressly states the Core Values, Vision, Mission and essential cultural principles that will guide and accompany every Gemadept’s members on the onward journey to conquer new heights.
While changing to be better is already difficult, changing to be the best in key industries of the Country is definitely a challenge. However, by vigorously pursuing the determined goals with great consistency, the overall picture of a 2025 Gemadept aiming to difference and longevity becomes clearer than ever.
