On 29 May 2017, Forbes Vietnam announced the list of Top 50 Best Vietnamese Listed Companies.
The list was made taking into account the best performance in many industries by enterprises on both HSX and HNX. The enterprises were scored basing on their compounded annual growth rate on revenue, profit, profit margin… for the period of 2012-2016. According to the statistics of Forbes Vietnam, the 50 companies currently contribute 60% of the total market capitalization on both stock exchanges. The total revenue of these 50 companies was VND 734,822 Billion, or approximately USD 32.4 Billion, increasing 55% compared to last year. The total profit was VND 79,461 Billion, increasing 49%.
For the second consecutive year, Gemadept is honored in the list thanks to its proper capture of market opportunities with suitable and flexible business strategies towards market fluctuations. Consequently, end of the fiscal year 2016, Gemadept successfully exceeded its business plan in both revenue and profit.
In parallel with ensuring business objectives, ensuring benefits to stakeholders and contributing to the community and society, Gemadept has promoted network development, enhanced its business scope through the key projects that the Corporation has been deploying in its core businesses including Port operation and Logistics.
For Gemadept, 2016 was a relatively favorable start for its mid-term development strategy of 2016-2020 with the implementation of a series of key projects; concretely, in the year, the Corporation has completed and put into operation Nam Hai ICD, Mekong Logistics and “K”line – Gemadept Vehicle Processing Center.
In 2017 and the coming years, Gemadept continues to accelerate the pace of development and with the aim to better meet the increasing market demand along with Vietnam’s economic growth, the Corporation will push up the construction of port and logistics projects for soon deployment, including two large-scale projects namely Nam Dinh Vu Container Port in Hai Phong and Gemalink Deep-sea Container Port in Cai Mep (BRVT).
