The Company Training Committee kicked off 2023 with a sharing session on leadership coaching for the Gemadept's managers, held on January 13, 2023 with the purpose of reviewing the knowledge of coaching in a simple and practical approach.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After the sharing session, each "student" was able to understand more about the importance of coaching in promoting team development towards the common goal of the organization, creating internal cohesion. Some of the core knowledge taken from this session is how to ask open-ended questions, not to ask yes\/no questions, how to ask solution-oriented questions instead of problems in the interview, listen actively, and not to impose solutions. Letting the subordinates speak 80% is the criterion to ensure the success of the coaching session.<\/div>\n

Summary of leadership coaching sharing content by GROW model: <\/strong><\/p>\n

The GROW model is one of the most successful training models. Created by Sir John Whitmore and colleagues in the 1980s, it was popularized in Sir John's bestseller, Coaching for Performance.<\/p>\n

The GROW model approaches and solves problems in specific stages to provide solutions and actions to the problem. By working through these four stages, the GROW model enhances individuals' awareness and understanding of: Their Aspirations, Their Current Situation and Beliefs, The possibilities and resources open to them , The actions they want to take to achieve their personal and professional goals.<\/strong><\/div>\n
